Cadus Tunuyan Pinot Noir 2021

Cadus Tunuyán Pinot Noir hails from the high central core of Argentina’s Uco Valley, where this variety shows its most ethereal and exotic character under the guidance of winemaker Santi Mayorga. Production This wine is crafted from a low-yield vineyard at 1,400 metres above sea level, with alluvial soils and native vegetation promoting balanced ripening. Cool nights preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. Fermentation is carried out with a portion of stems in open-top tanks, and 50% of the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels of varying sizes and ages to enhance texture and complexity. Tasting notes Cadus Tunuyán Pinot Noir displays vibrant cherry and cinnamon spice on the nose, with subtle herbal notes adding complexity. On the palate, it is well balanced, with bright acidity, soft tannins, and a persistent fresh finish, expressing the elegance and typicity of high-altitude Uco Valley Pinot Noir. Food match Pairs beautifully with lamb, duck, grilled salmon, and aged cheeses. Also complements lighter game, mushroom dishes, or herb-roasted vegetables. Grape Pinot Noir 100%

El Enemigo Cabernet Franc 2017

El Enemigo is the joint venture between Adrianna Catena, daughter of Dr Nicolas Catena, and Alejandro Vigil, who also doubles as Catena’s chief winemaker. They specialise in Cabernet Franc and have won numerous plaudits for their single vineyard Gran Enemigo Cab Francs from their Gualtallary, Agrelo, Cepillo and Chacayas vineyards. Now we are pleased to offer their Enemigo Cab Franc 2017, sourced from their Gualtallary vineyards, and which has recently received 95 pts from Tim Atkin and 93 pts from the Wine Advocate (see below for the reviews). "Made 'like a flan', according to Ale Vigil, this is a co-fermented blend of Cabernet Franc and 8% Malbec, with lots of whole bunches and aged in old wooden foudres. Zesty and fresh, with the low alcohol and focus that are a feature of El Enemigo style, it’s savoury and bright with salty minerality and graphite and green herb flavours." Wine Advocate 93 Points "The expressive and elegant 2017 El Enemigo Cabernet Franc has some 8% Malbec in the blend. It's a subtle red with nuance and detail, very harmonious, aromatic, even floral within the spicy character of the variety. The palate is medium-bodied, the tannins are very fine and there's moderate alcohol and very good freshness and harmony. This matured in oak foudres for some 15 months. 25,000 bottles produced."
