Cantine di Ora Amicale 2021
Cantine di Ora Amicale is an expressive red wine from the Veneto , one of Italy's most celebrated wine regions. A blend of Corvina, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, it draws on both indigenous and international varieties to create a wine of real elegance, depth and approachability. Part of the fruit is allowed to overripen on the vine, while another portion is dried in wooden crates under controlled conditions, a nod to the Veneto's great appassimento tradition. Why You'll Love It This is Veneto red winemaking at its most generous and characterful. The use of dried and overripe fruit gives Amicale a richness and velvety texture that sets it apart from everyday Italian reds, while 12 months in tonneaux adds structure and complexity without ever overwhelming the vibrant fruit at its core. Soft, layered and beautifully balanced, it is a wine that works as well with food as it does on its own. Vineyard and Production Grapes are hand-selected from sun-soaked Veneto vineyards and carefully processed to preserve freshness and integrity. Part of the harvest is allowed to overripen on the vine, while another portion is dried in wooden crates to concentrate flavours and enhance body. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine is aged for 12 months in tonneaux to integrate flavours and develop smooth, polished tannins. Tasting Notes Ruby red in colour with a delicate, vinous bouquet. Aromas of ripe raspberry and black cherry are complemented by subtle spice and chocolate notes from oak maturation. The palate is full-bodied, soft and velvety, with harmonious fruit intensity and a lingering, elegant finish. Perfect Pairings Pairs beautifully with roasted red meats, game, hearty pasta dishes and a variety of cheeses. Also excellent alongside slow-braised beef, risotto or a classic Italian charcuterie board. Grape Varieties Corvina , Merlot , Cabernet Sauvignon
Cantine Pellegrino Passimora Nero d'Avola 2023
Cantine Pellegrino Passimora is a vibrant Sicilian red wine that captures the warmth and character of the island. Crafted from Nero d'Avola grapes that are gently dried in the Sicilian sun to concentrate flavour, it delivers a rich, fruit-driven style with real charm and persistence. A superb introduction to what western Sicily does best. Why You'll Love It Passimora is the kind of wine that wins people over immediately. The partial drying of the grapes, a technique that intensifies the fruit and transfers aromatic compounds from skins to pulp, gives this wine a depth and richness that belies its price. Soft tannins, a warm texture, and a long finish make it endlessly drinkable, whether with food or on its own. Vineyard & Production The Nero d'Avola grapes are grown in western Sicily on Terra Grande soils, a silty and clayey base rich in minerals. Vineyards sit at altitudes from sea level up to 200 metres, benefiting from warm temperatures and cooling winds that preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. After harvest, the grapes undergo a gentle sun-drying process before a long, thermo-regulated fermentation. The wine is then aged for 4 months in wood to add structure and complexity. Tasting Notes Deep red in colour. The nose offers delicate aromas of red fruits and pomegranate, with sweet notes of dried plum and candied fruit. On the palate, it is soft, warm, and persistent, with gentle tannins that provide balance and elegance through to a long, satisfying finish. Perfect Pairings Pairs beautifully with cured meats, seasoned and fresh cheeses, tempura vegetables, and hearty stews. Also excellent alongside grilled lamb, slow-cooked ragus, or a classic Sicilian caponata. The Blend 100% Nero d'Avola
