Catherine Marshall Chenin Blanc Fermented in Clay 2023
This Chenin Blanc is meticulously grown in the cool Elgin Valley, with a small portion sourced from old bush vines in Stellenbosch. The wine is fermented in hand-crafted clay amphorae and neutral oak, creating a beautifully layered profile with fresh yellow stone fruit, delicate white floral notes, and flinty, wet-stone tension that lends balance and structure. Vineyard & Terroir Sourced from the Kogelberg Biosphere and Stellenbosch, the vineyards provide a cool climate and diverse soils that enhance aromatic complexity and freshness. Winemaking After careful sorting, the grapes are partially crushed and fermented in clay amphorae and neutral oak. Partial malolactic fermentation in oak preserves the flinty, fresh character, while the amphora component retains vibrant acidity. The two components are blended after 11 months of maturation before bottling. Tasting Notes Bright yellow stone fruit aromas with floral accents and a flinty, mineral-driven palate. Elegant, balanced, and layered, with a fresh, harmonious finish. Food Pairing Pairs well with seafood, grilled chicken, light salads, and creamy vegetable dishes. Grape Variety Chenin Blanc Awards Tim Atkin MW: 95 pts Platter: 93 pts
Domaine Roger Neveu Sancerre La Grande Cote Blanc 2024
For more than four centuries, Domaine Roger Neveu has a rich history of winery and craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation. Roger, who was Eric's and Jean-Philippe's father, seized the opportunity in the post-war economic climate and was determined to produce a wine which reflected his own personality. Now Eric and Jean-Philippe hand down the traditions and values of a family-owned winery to their respective sons, Baptiste and Florent : constant, sustainable and careful soil management and the idea of turning their passion for making wines into a bona fide experience for wine lovers. In the future, their mission will be to perpetuate everything that they live for : a wine with spirit, talent and an evident focus on excellence in winemaking.
