CENITO Aglianico Luigi Maffini 2020
Certified organic. Vineyard one mile from the sea. Planted in the 1970s. 10–12 months in French oak, part new, part used. Very dark with a black core. Darker and less immediately fruity than the Kleos but still black-fruited and tangy. Chewy yet not aggressive tannins and lovely fruit purity and freshness on the palate. It's a big wine. The alcohol does not intrude, even though there is some warmth on the mid palate. (JH) 15%
SYRAH North Coast Darling Wines 2021
Aromatic nose. Ripe, juicy black berries, a touch meatiness and Syrah black pepper. Violet floral character, too. Juicy depths to the palate. Good focus and detail of flavour. Mouth-watering freshness and fine, ripe tannins. A complete, compelling and enjoyable wine.
