CHABLIS 1er Cru Beauroy Domaine Laurent Tribut 2022
(from a 1.8 ha parcel that is divided roughly 50/50 between Beauroy proper and Troëmes). A whiff of exotic fruit lurks in the background of the aromas of mostly white peach, apricot and sea breeze. The rich and beautifully textured medium weight flavors possess notably better depth on the sneaky long and balanced finale that is noticeably firmer.
CHASSAGNE MONTRACHET Rouge 1er Cru Morgeot Domaine Fernand & Laurent Pillot 2020
(from Ez Crottes and Guerchère). Ripe liqueur-like aromas of various dark berries are laced with hints of pepper and earth. The exceptionally rich, even lavish, medium weight flavors possess a highly seductive texture while displaying good if not special depth and length on the moderately rustic and slightly warm finale. This is also sufficiently pliant to be approachable young, yet it also has the requisite stuffing to repay up to a decade of aging.
