CHABLIS 'VIEILLES VIGNES' Domaine Raoul Gautherin 2023
The 2023 Chablis Vieilles Vignes was raised in oak barrels, so it obviously displays some creaminess on the nose. Peach skin, lychee, lemon verbena and chai aromas join in with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch more weight than the Chablis Village, but the acidity keeps it crisp. The oak is very well integrated on the finish. Give this 12 months in bottle.
LEITHAKALK Chardonnay Weingut Kollwentz 2024
Rich and ripe apricot and orange fruit with a touch of smoke. Compact and well rounded on the full-bodied palate. Quite a lot of power in the bold but clean and dry finish. Grapes are mostly from Neusatz with small amounts from this producer’s top sites. Drink or hold.
