CHACRA TREINTA Y DOS '32' PINOT NOIR CHACRA TREINTA Y DOS '32' Pinot Noir Bodega Chacra 2022
Fermented with 50% whole clusters in both barrel and concrete vat, the 2022 Pinot Noir Treinta y Dos hails from Mainqué in Patagonia. A bright, ruby-hued wine, the nose presents aromas of wild herbs, sour cherry and raspberry, further revealing hints of lavender, rose and cotton candy with time in the glass. Dry and quite silky on the palate, there is a light grip to the mouthfeel, allowing the Treinta y Dos to unleash its energy in a nuanced, lasting finish. This is an intellectual wine.
SANTENAY Rouge 1er Cru Clos des Gravières Domaine Hubert Lamy 2022
(a .28 ha clos with vines that average ~45 years of age and are planted at a density equivalent to 20,000 per ha or double the normal amount). This is also quite floral in character with ripe but nicely fresh aromas of airy red berries and crushed anise nuances. There is evident minerality suffusing the delicious and vibrant medium weight flavors that display better length on the overtly austere, firm and built-to-age finale. This possesses solid aging potential but note that it’s sufficiently austere that it will probably not drink especially well young.
