Chairman’s Reserve Legacy Rum
Chairman's Reserve presents a special bottling in honour of founder Laurie Bernard, showcasing his dedication and enthusiasm for exceptional rum. Bernard's vision drove St Lucia Distillers to enhance their equipment and explore new rum-making possibilities. They introduced pot stills alongside their column stills, replanted dormant sugar cane fields to produce estate-grown sugar, and initiated the art of blending their diverse rums to cultivate greater character and complexity. Thus, the esteemed Chairman's Reserve brand was established. This expression is a blend of column and pot still molasses-based rums, combined with estate-grown sugar cane rum, embodying Laurie Bernard's vision. It offers flavours of butterscotch, dark berries, and sultanas with undertones of spicy oak, tobacco, pine, and nutmeg. The finish presents bananas with vanilla caramel sauce, charred pineapple with burnt brown sugar, and a touch of spice.
Ron Barcelo Imperial
Award winning rum from Ron Barcelo, which was awarded by the prestigious Beverage Testing Institute of Chicago as the best rum in the world, carrying the badge of being the first rum to get the highest score in the history of this institute: 97/100. Bright coppery amber colour. Aromas of cream butter, dried cherries, intensive vanilla, pineapple jam and caramelized walnuts followed by a soft entry into a dry but fruity, medium and lush body with great depth and balance. It ends with a carrot cake ice cream taste, cola nut, mocha and a robust roasted flavour that slowly dissipates. The Imperial Barcelo was introduced in 1980 as their top bottle in the range at the time. Ron Barcelo is a family run firm that was established in 1929 but it was not until 1950 before rum was coming out of their doors.
