CHAMBOLLE MUSIGNY Domaine Christian Clerget 2023
Cask sample. Mid crimson. Rich aroma of dark-red fruit with a touch of peony perfume and a little bit of oak spice. Smooth and gently chewy with sufficient fruit to support the tannins. (JH)
SAINT VÉRAN La Roche Domaine Frantz Chagnoleau 2023
The 2023 Saint Véran La Roche comes from the oldest vines on the estate, around 70 years old, that tend to suffer millerandage. Raised in barrel, it has a rocky, almost chalky bouquet that perhaps does not have the flair or complexity of the à la Côte cuvées. The palate is charming with pure nectarine and clementine notes on the entry and well-pitched acidity. A subtle spicy note emerges towards the finish, which shrugs off the reduction after a couple of minutes. Good potential.
