CHAMBOLLE MUSIGNY Vieilles Vignes Domaine Lignier-Michelot 2020
(from 50+ year old vines in Les Drazey and Gamaires). An overtly floral-suffused nose reflects additional notes of pretty red and dark cherry, raspberry and spiced tea. Here too the middle weight flavors possess a lovely sense of verve while terminating in a chiseled, clean and youthfully austere finish that is very Chambollesque in character.
CÔTE RÔTIE Éminence Domaine Rémi Niero 2021
Cask sample. Tasted blind. On the nose, ripe forest fruits, fig and cigar. Tightly coiled but with a good core of pure dark fruits beneath the oak. Good concentration and chewy, powdery tannins.
