CHAMBOLLE MUSIGNY Vieilles Vignes Domaine Stéphane Magnien 2019
The oldest vines date back to 1902 and 1903 in Les Athées but with replacements of course. Dense black purple. The nose is heady but balanced, then the fruit explodes on the second half of the palate, really racy, the tannins are ripe, fruit is at optimum ripeness, but there is still good acidity too. Chapeau. Tasted: November 2020 4/5 stars
NUITS SAINT GEORGES Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot 2019
An earthier and markedly ripe nose grudgingly offers up dark berry fruit liqueur scents. The sleek, intense and beautifully well-detailed flavors are supported by a firmer tannic spine on the moderately rustic, muscular and lingering finale.
