One of the oldest Champagne houses, Lanson was founded in 1760 by Francois Delamotte, a magistrate from the Reims. Stunning nose of yeasty raisin and candied citrus bread straight from the oven. Also a whole room filled with dried flowers. A generous wine but radically clean, straight and dry, with a very long, delicately salty and flinty finish. 81% pinot noir and 19% chardonnay, all from Ambonnay. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold.
