Champagne R de Ruinart Brut NV

' The House of Ruinart is unlike any other. It was the first established House of Champagne in 1729 and inspired by the intuition of a monk well ahead of his time, Dom Thierry Ruinart. R de Ruinart is the original expression of the Ruinart taste. This Brut Champagne contains a relatively large share (40%) of Chardonnay. The family chose very early on to honour the fragile, relatively scarce Chardonnay grape; the most elegant of the white grape varieties in Champagne. Chardonnay takes time to develop - it gradually reaches its full aromatic complexity. The blend is made up of 40% Chardonnay, 49% Pinot Noir and 11% Meunier, 20 to 25% of which are wines reserved from the 2 previous years. This results in a harmonious balance between freshness and fullness, with a refined and round mouthfeel. A perfect champagne for aperitifs whatever the occasion. It may also be served with refined, light starters such as poached oysters and seared scallops, or with a main dish such as sole meunière . It is also excellent with local cheeses with a short ripening time, such as Chaource or a very creamy Langres . '

Taittinger Prestige Rose Champagne

Taittinger Prestige Rosé is a vibrant and elegant Champagne that immediately stands out for its intense, shimmering pink hue. Crafted as a blend with 15% still red wine from the best Pinot Noirs of Montagne de Reims and Les Riceys, combined with 30% Chardonnay, this Champagne offers unmistakable colour and vibrant intensity on the palate, balanced by the elegance and delicacy that underpin Taittinger's signature style. Why You'll Love It This is Rosé Champagne at its finest—lively, fruity, fresh and elegant. Unlike many rosé Champagnes, Taittinger Prestige Rosé is produced using the more complex and costly blending method, adding still red wine from the finest Pinot Noir vineyards to create its distinctive colour and intensity. The high proportion of Chardonnay brings the elegance and finesse that Taittinger is renowned for, resulting in a Champagne that strikes a perfect balance between vibrant fruit character and refined sophistication. Vineyard & Production A blend of 15% still red wine produced from the best Pinot Noirs from Montagne de Reims and Les Riceys, combined with 30% Chardonnay and other grape varieties. The still red wine is added to the final blend to give this cuvée its unmistakable colour and vibrant intensity on the palate, while the Chardonnay brings elegance and delicacy. This blending method is more complex and costly to produce than other rosé Champagne techniques. Tasting Notes This elegant Champagne displays an intense and brilliant bright pink colour with fine bubbles and persistent mousse. The nose is full, wonderfully expressive, both fresh and young, giving off aromas of red fruits including freshly crushed wild raspberry, cherry and blackcurrant. The palate strikes a fine balance of velvet texture and full body, with flavours reminiscent of fresh, crisp red fruits. The finish is lively, fruity, fresh and elegant. Perfect Pairings A versatile Champagne that can be enjoyed both early on and at the end of an evening. Deliciously fragranced
