Chartreuse Yellow Liqueur

Chartreuse Yellow Liqueur is the softer, more delicate sibling to the famous Green Chartreuse, crafted by the Carthusian monks using the same secret blend of 130 plants, flowers, and roots. First released in the 19th century, it offers a gentler, sweeter, and more approachable expression of the Chartreuse tradition, with a lower alcohol content and a warmer, honeyed profile. Its golden colour and nuanced botanical character make it a favourite for those who enjoy herbal liqueurs with depth but prefer a smoother, less intense experience. Why You'll Love It This is the gentler expression of the legendary Chartreuse tradition. Chartreuse Yellow is crafted by Carthusian monks in the French Alps using the same secret recipe of 130 plants, flowers, and roots as the Green, but with a different balance that creates a softer, sweeter character. At 40% ABV (compared to Green's 55%), it's more approachable while still offering remarkable complexity. The golden colour comes entirely from the botanicals, with no artificial colouring added. The flavour profile is warmer and more honeyed, with sweet herbs, saffron, anise, and gentle spice creating a rounded, silky texture. This is monastic craftsmanship with elegance and finesse, perfect for those who appreciate herbal liqueurs but prefer a smoother, less intense experience. Edmond Briottet Liqueur de Sapin (Fir Tree)

Buds from pine trees in the mountainous part of the Doubs department (county) are harvested in June, and left to dry in bud stores. What happens then is that they are macerated in alcohol and distilled using a still equipped with a bain-marie. After sugar is added they obtain this delicious liqueur which provides us with a so-special breath of fresh nature from the depths of forests in the Franche-Comté area.
