From a parcel that is immediately adjacent to Bâtard. Smoky reduction and wood are all that can be discerned at present. More interesting are the rich to the point of opulence bigger-bodied flavors that flash evident power on the dry, balanced and compact finish that is borderline tannic. VB always ages well and this example should be no exception.

Always a more powerful and elemental wine than En La Rue de Vergy, this is a fabulous Faconnières and one with some good mileage in the tank. I wouldn’t touch this for five years but expect fireworks when you eventually open a bottle.
