Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge, Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard 2018
Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard covers a huge range of villages and have over the past decade raised their stock exponentially. The wines have a clear purity and minerality as well as a lovely weight and richness of fruit. The focus and precision is what makes them really stand out and with Celine Fontaine and her husband Fred Robert (formerly of Armand Rousseau) at the helm, you best keep a close eye on how high this Domaine will climb.
Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Bas Liards, Pierre Meurgey 2019
Pierre Meurgey, a fourth-generation winemaker, is now bottling remarkable wines under his own name and is just beginning to gain recognition. His father, Henri, was a highly respected courtier and oenologist in the Côte d'Or, admired by all growers. Pierre, known for crafting high-quality wines that are designed to age well, is definitely also a winemaker to watch. His Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Bas Liards is a well-made Burgundy with good aging potential.
