Gaja Ca'Marcanda Promis 2021

Gaja Ca'Marcanda Promis is an elegant, approachable red wine from Tuscany's Bolgheri and Bibbona areas, crafted from a blend of Merlot, Syrah, and Sangiovese. Sourced from vineyards planted on dark soils full of lime and clay, this wine showcases Gaja's expertise in creating wines with both immediate appeal and the depth that comes from one of Italy's most prestigious wine families. Why You'll Love It This is accessible Tuscan winemaking from a legendary producer—elegant, balanced, and beautifully crafted with 12 months in oak and additional bottle ageing. Produced by Gaja's Ca'Marcanda estate in Bolgheri, Promis offers an entry point to the quality and style of this prestigious property at an exceptional price. The blend of Merlot, Syrah, and Sangiovese creates a wine with international appeal and Tuscan character, handled with particular care through soft pressing and shortened maceration to preserve elegance. Vineyard & Production Sourced from vineyards focused in Bolgheri and the neighbouring area of Bibbona, with vines mainly planted on dark soils full of lime and clay. Grapes are handled with particular care, with extremely soft pressing of the bunches to help shorten the maceration process. The three varieties ferment and macerate separately for around 15 days. After 12 months of ageing in oak, they are blended and aged for several months in bottle before release. Tasting Notes Elegant and approachable with layers of dark fruit, subtle spice, and refined tannins. The palate shows excellent balance with smooth texture and a long, satisfying finish. Medium to full-bodied with the polish and finesse expected from Gaja. Perfect Pairings A perfect match for grilled meats, wild game, roasted lamb, aged cheeses, or rich Italian cuisine. Also excellent with steak, venison, duck breast, or hearty pasta dishes. Grape Variety Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese
