CHASSAGNE MONTRACHET Rouge Vieilles Vignes Domaine Fernand & Laurent Pillot 2021
(45 to 50-year-old vines situated in six separate lieux-dits). A mentholated top note can be found on the peppery red berry fruit aromas. Here too there is very good density and richness to the unusually full-bodied and succulent medium weight flavors that display good length on the rustic, even robust finale. This is a relatively big Chassagne villages in the context of what is typical for the vintage.
GIVRY Blanc 1er Cru Crausot Domaine François Lumpp 2022
Tank sample. Much more intent and interest on the nose compared with the Teppe des Chenèves. Concentrated, very fresh acidity to balance the palate full of ripe stone fruit. Will develop well with extra layers of flavour already starting to emerge. (AWH)
