CHASSAGNE MONTRACHET ROUGE Vieilles Vignes Domaine Joseph Colin 2023
: (from Les Pierres and Le Poirier du Clos). Ripe aromas of red and dark pinot fruit are cut with notes of pepper and earth. There is fine energy to the acceptably dense flavors that conclude in a dusty, youthfully austere and lingering finale. This should drink well after only a few years of keeping.
LE PIANE Boca 2020
100-year-old Croatina. Two years in both big and small oak. Deep crimson with smudgy rim. Dark fruit that reminds me of the hedgerow – elderberry and blackberry but also a dark spicy savour. Deeply chewy, firm tannin texture, and all in balance with fruit. Powerful, youthful, long.
