Château Berliquet, grand cru classé Saint-Emilion 2021
Softly spoken, carefully extracted, well-layered raspberry, damson and red cherry fruits, a subtle complexity that grows through the palate, with clear finesse, smoked earth and grilled cedar on the finish. First year of organic conversion, with certification expected 2024. 44% new oak, plus four amphora for ageing. 30hl/h yield, 3.41ph. Thomas Duclos consultant.
CÔTE DE NUITS Les Leurey Thibault Liger-Belair Successeurs 2021
The 2021 Côte de Nuits Les Leury has a light floral bouquet with rose petal and red cherry fruit, more strawberry emerging with time. There is a bit of warmth unusual in this vintage (13.8% alcohol). The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, certainly a richer style of 2021 with a plush candied finish.
