Château Duhart-Milon 2022

Est. delivery in 2025 Château Duhart-Milon’s vineyard consists mainly of a single block of vines on the west side of Château Lafite Rothschild, on the Milon hillside, which runs along the Carruades plateau. The property has 76 hectares of vine. The soil is fine gravel mixed with aeolian sand on tertiary limestone subsoil. The growing season was closely monitored, coming after a severe winter and some spring frost. Flowering was not very productive, constant humidity favoured disease and the summer was moderately warm. Fortunately, September was fine and so it was possible to wait for the grapes to fully ripen, with late harvests.

Château Pontet-Canet 2020

Neighbour to Mouton Rothschild, Pontet-Canet has become one of Bordeaux’s most forward-thinking estates. The Tesseron family were pioneers of biodynamics on the Left Bank, with horses still working the vines, and were early adopters of amphora ageing alongside traditional oak. This blend of tradition and innovation has propelled the estate to the front rank of Pauillac. The 2020 is a superb expression of this philosophy: deep, pure and finely structured, with intense cassis and dark berry fruit wrapped in velvety tannins. Notes of graphite, violets, and spice add complexity, while a natural energy and freshness give it both power and finesse. A wine of poise and precision, built to age beautifully.
