Château Fonroque, (Magnum) 2020
The first biodynamic château to be part of St Émilion Grand Cru, Fonroque is always one of the best value picks from Bordeaux En Primeur. The estate was the original home of the Moueix family, who own Trotanoy and Lafleur-Petrus in Pomerol, as well as Dominus in Napa, though they sold the château to the Guillard family in 2017 (Alain Moueix has stayed on as an active consultant). Stylistically the wine is all about elegance and finesse, and the 2020 is arguably their finest vintage to date.

Standard price: £480/case. Enjoy the 10% off until midnight 22nd June, 2026 Est. delivery in September, 2026 Tenuta Maryamado Bonorlo 2022 is a classic Bordeaux-inspired blend viewed through a Tuscan lens. Combining 75% Cabernet Sauvignon with 25% Merlot, it reflects the region’s long-standing affinity for international varieties, which have flourished in Tuscany’s warm climate and diverse soils since the rise of the Super Tuscan movement. The result is a wine that balances structure and power with the elegance and freshness that define the best modern Tuscan reds. The 2022 vintage has delivered impressive concentration and ripeness, while retaining a sense of poise. Aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum and blackberry are layered with notes of cedar, sweet spice and a hint of Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, Cabernet Sauvignon provides backbone and depth, while Merlot brings suppleness and generosity, creating a wine with polished tannins, impressive balance and a long, refined finish. A superb match for grilled ribeye steak, roast venison or aged Pecorino, where the wine’s richness and structure can truly shine.
