Refusing to bend to fashion trends, the family claims a vintners’ signature, typically French, inscribed between tradition and modernity. This respect of the terroir is linked to their origins. They are born here in this vineyard with its unique location backing onto the southern hillside of St Emilion. Gaja Ca'Marcanda Magari is a polished, refined Bordeaux-style blend from Tuscany's prestigious Bolgheri DOP region. Crafted from vineyard blocks on the fertile hillside with loamy, clay-rich terre brune (dark brown earth) soils, this wine showcases the elegance and mineral character that define premium Bolgheri wines, with exceptional ageing potential through 2030. Vineyard & Production Sourced from vineyard blocks further from the sea, closer to the fertile hillside where loamy, clay-rich terre brune (dark brown earth) soils create round wines with mineral character. The 2020 vintage featured a dry winter, late frost challenges in March, and hot months with significant night-time temperature variations. Tramontana winds and heat peaks accompanied the grapes to full ripeness. The three varieties ferment and macerate separately for around 15 days, then age for 12 months in oak before blending and several months of bottle ageing before release.
