Chateau Musar Hochar (Pere et Fils) 2021

Chateau Musar Hochar Pere et Fils is a characterful Lebanese red blending Cinsault , Grenache, and Cabernet Sauvignon from a single vineyard in the Western Bekaa Valley. Grown at 1,000 metres above sea level on deep gravelly soils over limestone, it is a wine of real Mediterranean personality, depth, and elegance from one of the wine world's most storied estates. Why You'll Love It Hochar Pere et Fils is the approachable sibling to the legendary Chateau Musar Grand Vin, sharing the same philosophy of minimal intervention, single-vineyard sourcing, and a deep respect for the Bekaa Valley's extraordinary terroir. Old vines averaging 30 years of age and low yields of just 20-30 hectolitres per hectare produce a wine of genuine concentration and complexity. This is Lebanon at its finest, and one of the most distinctive bottles you will find at this price. Vineyard & Production The grapes are sourced from a single vineyard near the village of Aana in the Western Bekaa Valley, sitting at 1,000 metres altitude on deep, gravelly soils over a limestone base. Low yields and old vines concentrate flavour naturally. The grapes are fermented at 27-29°C with 15-20 days maceration in cement vats, followed by six months ageing in French Nevers oak barrels before blending and bottling. Tasting Notes Deep burgundy in colour with transparent layers revealing the Grenache component. The nose offers aromas of ripe red cherry, plums, dates, mulberries, and tea leaves. On the palate, it is Mediterranean in style with sweet tannins and a subtle spiciness. The wine develops even greater refinement a day after opening, rewarding patience and a good decant. Perfect Pairings Pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, grilled meats, slow-cooked Mediterranean dishes, and aged cheeses. Also excellent alongside spiced Middle Eastern cuisine, slow-roasted aubergine, or a classic Lebanese mezze spread. The Blend Cinsault 50%, Grenache 40%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10% from the Western Bekaa Valley, Lebanon

Domaine Lafran Veyrolles Bandol Tradition 2023

Domaine Lafran-Veyrolles Bandol Tradition is a bold, expressive red wine from one of the most celebrated estates in Provence . Crafted from a classic southern French blend of Grenache , Syrah , and Mourvèdre, this is Bandol at its most characterful, combining layered complexity with a velvety, approachable texture. Meet the Producer Domaine Lafran-Veyrolles is widely recognised as one of the top three estates in Bandol, boasting superb terroir and a long-standing commitment to quality. Managed by Jean-Marie Castel, the domaine blends traditional winemaking techniques with modern, temperature-controlled facilities, bringing a meticulous approach to every stage of production. Vineyard and Production Vineyards are worked manually, with organic-inspired weed and pest control. Grapes are hand-picked, left un-destemmed, and gently crushed before fermenting for 15 to 21 days in temperature-controlled vats. The wine then matures in large oak barrels for 18 to 24 months, before being bottled without filtration or fining and cellared until the following spring to ensure refinement and depth. Tasting Notes A vibrant nose of bay leaves and menthol leads to wild, crunchy bramble fruits, redcurrant, and subtle bracken. The palate is rich and velvety, with layered complexity and a long, harmonious finish. Grape Variety Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre Perfect Pairings Pairs beautifully with meatballs in rich tomato sauce, prime pink beef, or mushroom risotto with roasted garlic.
