CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE Cuvée de la Reine des Bois Domaine de la Mordorée 2018
Warm and inviting, with a richly layered core of steeped plum, blackberry and cherry fruit. Hints of alder and mesquite check in, along with twinges of chestnut and brick dust. Offers a nice mix of modern and old school. Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Best from 2023 through 2036.
CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE Les Sables de la Crau Domaine Jean Royer 2019
The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Sables De La Crau (100% Grenache) brings the elegance and finesse up to another level and offers a beautiful perfume of black raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry fruits as well as notes of wildflowers, violets, lavender, and camphor. Full-bodied, incredibly seamless, and ultra-fine, this is Grenache at its more elegant and graceful, with flawless balance and a great finish. Hats off to Jean-Royer. This is the finest wine I've tasted from this estate.
