Citadelle No Mistake Old Tom Gin 50cl

The Old Tom from Citadelle is has a delightful aroma of juniper, orange zest and cardamom which develops into floral softer notes of jasmine and honeysuckle. The flavours to be found on the palate is full bodied, elegant and has a sweet and sour profile of lemon zest, anise, almond and long lasting spices with that classic Old Tom style sweetness. Citadelle Old Tom has been aged for 3 to four months in casks before it has been blended with some sugar to get that sweet style and is then added back to the casks for a further few months. The sugar used is toasted in copper cauldrons to give some caramelization.

Malfy Con Limone Gin

Malfy Con Limone Gin is distilled by the Vergnano family in Torino Distillati, a distillery established in 1906 in an area just outside the city of Torino that has a long been home to wine and spirit makers. This citrus gin uses Italian juniper along with gorgeous lemons from the Amalfi Coast and Sicily; in fact, nearly everything about this gin comes from Italy including the stopper that's made from Italian Oak trees. The lemons and juniper are distilled in a stainless steel vacuum still along with angelica, cassia bark, corriander and another two botanicals that are kept secret. The vibrant gin is housed in an equally vibrant bottle that is decorated using traditional Italian techniques and the crest is representative of a rowing race that is held each year between the four medieval Italian kingdoms. They claim that gin itself was actually first invented in Italy by monks during the 11th century; whether or not this is true we really wouldn't like to say but I'm sure the Dutch may disagree! Despite these wild claims, this is a great citrus gin that can be enjoyed on a hot summer's day in either a classic G&T or a Negroni, another invention from Italy.
