Cline Cellars Ancient Vines Zinfandel Contra Costa County 2022
The Cline Ancient Vines Zinfandel is a bold, characterful Californian red made from some of Contra Costa County’s oldest dry-farmed vineyards, many over 100 years old. These historic vines produce naturally low yields of intensely concentrated fruit, resulting in a wine of richness, depth and unmistakable personality. Tasting Notes Bursting with spicy strawberry, coffee and chocolate notes, this Zinfandel is plush and mouth-filling. Soft tannins support the ripe, juicy fruit, while 10 months in American oak (38% new) adds layers of vanilla and sweet spice, perfectly complementing the wine’s old vine intensity. Vineyard & Production Grapes harvested from Cline’s oldest, historic Zinfandel blocks Dry-farmed 100-year-old vines for concentrated flavour Gentle crushing to preserve whole berries and explosive fruit character Fermented in stainless steel, then aged in American oak for 10 months Food Pairing A versatile, full-bodied red that pairs beautifully with rich beef stews, barbecued meats, or creamy poultry dishes. Felino Cabernet Sauvignon
Felino Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon from Vina Cobos, one of Mendoza's most celebrated wineries. Founded by renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs in 1999, Vina Cobos focuses on authentic expressions of terroir across Mendoza's distinguished Lujan de Cuyo and Valle de Uco regions. The result is a wine of remarkable balance, texture and character, crafted with meticulous vineyard management and a profound respect for the land. Viticulture The grapes are sourced from vineyards in Valle de Uco and Lujan de Cuyo, situated at altitudes between 2,306 and 3,927 feet. The semi-desert climate, with intense sunlight and significant diurnal temperature variation, contributes to concentrated fruit and distinctive varietal character. Winemaking Fermentation takes place in closed-top stainless steel tanks using a combination of selected and native yeasts. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels to add structure, complexity and aromatic refinement while preserving the freshness of the fruit. Tasting Notes Deep ruby in colour with dark tones, offering aromas of red pepper, fresh red fruits and hints of white pepper. The palate is textured and balanced, supported by fantastically chewy tannins and leading to a satisfying, long finish. Perfect Pairings Pairs beautifully with semi-hard cheeses, pasta with tomato sauce, meatballs, lasagne and skirt steak. An excellent choice for relaxed dining and casual entertaining. Grape Variety 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
