Clynelish 14 Year Old Single Malt Whisky

Clynelish 14 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is a coastal Highland dram known for its waxy texture, subtle peat smoke and citrus-driven complexity. Distilled at the Clynelish Distillery in Brora, Scotland, this 14-year-old single malt is matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and refill American oak casks. It serves as the flagship expression of the distillery and is widely appreciated for its distinctive character and role in Diageo’s blending portfolio, particularly in Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve. On the nose, it opens with fresh citrus, delicate florals and a touch of brine, underpinned by honey and beeswax. A few drops of water reveal waxy oiliness and dried tropical fruits, along with a faint rubbery note reminiscent of new boots. The palate is creamy and medium-bodied, offering citrus zest, sea salt and light smoke, with hints of gentle spice and sweet malt. The finish is slightly dry and lingering, marked by peppery warmth and a briny touch.

Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky

Nikka Coffey Grain is mostly made from corn that has been distilled in two of the Coffey Stills in the Miyagikyo distillery. It is a complex, sweet and mellow. Coffey Grain is a great introduction for someone to grain whisky and is part of a core production, no longer will you have to search for the Single Cask Single Grain bottling that are usually produced in limited numbers. The aromas are juicy, pleasant and contain notes of ripe pear, cherry and exotic fruits. The flavour profile is a great balance and made up of ripe fruit, banana and caramel (very reminiscent of a good sipping rum). The flavour develops on the palate with notes of liquorice and exotic spices like star anise amongst the light fruity flavours which all comes to a light bitter finish.
