CONDRIEU Coeur De Roncharde Domaine Rémi Niero 2021
Tasted blind. Mealy nose with apricot kernel, almond and frangipane. Some nice fruit weight and a rich texture on the mid palate. Attractive, fruit-driven and a ginger note on the finish.
CORNAS Pur Granit Domaine Lionnet 2020
The 2020 Cornas Pur Granit is brilliant stuff. Ripe black cherries, blueberries, scorched earth, smoked game, and iron are just some of its nuances, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered, focused texture, plenty of tannins, and a great finish. This classic Cornas needs 3-5 years of bottle age and I suspect will still bring drinking spectacularly well in 15+ years.
