CORNAS Pur Granit Domaine Lionnet 2020
The 2020 Cornas Pur Granit is brilliant stuff. Ripe black cherries, blueberries, scorched earth, smoked game, and iron are just some of its nuances, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered, focused texture, plenty of tannins, and a great finish. This classic Cornas needs 3-5 years of bottle age and I suspect will still bring drinking spectacularly well in 15+ years.
NUITS SAINT GEORGES Les Fleurières Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron 2020
Fragrant lavender, raspberries, dried herbs and a touch of orange peel on the nose. It’s focused on the palate, compact, with a medium body and firm finish. Drink or hold.
