Cortese Nostru Catarratto Lucido Organic 2023
Cortese Nostru Catarratto Lucido is a characterful, certified organic white wine from Sicily, showcasing the indigenous Catarratto Lucido grape in its purest form. Straw-coloured with flecks of green, it delivers a distinctive aromatic profile of jasmine, aromatic herbs, and white peach, underpinned by a strong mineral backbone and lively acidity. A compelling expression of authentic Sicilian winemaking from our Italian Wines collection. Why You'll Love It Catarratto Lucido is one of Sicily's great indigenous white grapes, prized for its aromatic complexity, mineral intensity, and refreshing acidity. Cortese Nostru is dedicated to expressing the variety in its most authentic form, using certified organic viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking to let the terroir speak clearly. The result is a wine of remarkable clarity and character that offers outstanding value for the quality in the glass. Vineyard & Production Grapes are carefully selected from certified organic vineyards in Sicily and gently pressed to extract pure juice. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with temperature control to preserve the wine's natural aromatics and fresh fruit character. The wine is then filtered, stabilised, and bottled to retain its vibrant acidity and mineral intensity. Tasting Notes Straw-coloured with flecks of green. The nose opens with a characterful bouquet of jasmine, aromatic herbs, and nutmeg, with delicate touches of white peach. On the palate, a strong mineral backbone is perfectly balanced with lively acidity. The finish is long and complex with delicious almond flavours. Perfect Pairings Ideal with grilled fish, seafood pasta, light risotto, and fresh salads. Also pairs beautifully with Mediterranean cuisine, vegetable-based dishes, and soft fresh cheeses. Excellent as an aperitif. The Blend 100% Catarratto
Warwick Estate Professor Black Sauvignon Blanc 2023
Professor Black loved his peaches. In fact, he would use Warwick land to carry out agricultural experiments involving peach trees for the University of Stellenbosch. Today, the peach trees are gone, but his legend lives on in a wine as vibrant today as he ever was. The Professor Black vineyards are high up in the foothills of the Simonsberg, with one of the blocks being 36 years old (that’s really old for Sauvignon). The palate is alive and zesty, with passionfruit and citrus elements.
