CÔTE RÔTIE Dans Les Vignes De Mon Père Domaine Patrick & Christophe Bonnefond 2022
The 2022 Côte-Rôtie Dans les Vignes de mon Père checks in at 13.5% alcohol. Co-fermented with 6% Viognier, it aged for 20 months in 2nd-fill French oak barriques previously used for white wine maturation. Hauntingly floral, the fragrant 2022 unveils pronounced rose petal, apricot, black cherry, black plum and cedar aromas. Pencil shaving adds another layer of complexity. Medium- to full-bodied, round and refreshing, the 2022 achieves remarkable intensity before landing with stamina on the elegant finish.
VOLNAY 1er Cru Santenots Domaine Rémi Jobard 2020
The whole cluster vinification is in evidence as there is an overtly floral character to the red and dark berry fruit aromas. The succulent, round and attractively textured yet solidly powerful medium-bodied flavors possess fine richness before terminating in a mildly bitter finale that exhibits acceptable vibrancy and length.
