Darling Cellars, Old Bush Vine Chenin 2023
The 2023 Darling Cellars Old Bush Vine Chenin is a great example of South Africa’s go-to white, made from dry-farmed old bush vines that bring both concentration and freshness. It shows ripe pear, quince and stone fruit, with a hint of honey and citrus lift. The palate is rounded but still fresh, with a gentle texture, a light mineral edge and enough acidity to keep it crisp and balanced. A versatile, good-value Chenin that works just as well with seafood and lightly spiced dishes as it does on its own.
