Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition 2022 Release
Each Distillers Edition expression undergoes a second (or double) maturation in casks that have previously held a fortified wine. Lovers of Dalwhinnie will appreciate the way the fragrance of Oloroso sherry overlays, but does not mask, the heather honey distillery notes. Distilled 2006 and released 2021. APPEARANCE Pale Amber NOSE Fresh sherry embraces the maltier, more honeyed aspects of Dalwhinnie. Peaty and surprisingly, still heathery. Spicy yet drippy. BODY Light to Medium PALATE A big, spicy buzz followed by an impressive build up of very clear, well defined malt. After a quick burst of sweetness, a rich, grape effect moves in towards the middle. FINISH Lots of oak. Very, very dry with vanilla dominating.

While all expressions of Tamdhu are matured exclusively in the ?nest Oloroso sherry casks, Tamdhu Batch Strength 006 goes further still. Each cask is meticulously hand-selected to create this one-of-a-kind release. Moreover, a high proportion of these casks are first-fill: the very best of the very best. This scarce wood bears two great gifts: colour and taste. The deep copper hue of Tamdhu Batch Strength 006 is developed by the cask, nothing more – and each drop owes its rich, complex taste to its Oloroso cask home. Aromas of oak, roasted nuts and vanilla. The palate is summer berry pidding with creme anglais with a dash of water in the glass it brings orange, lemon and oak spice.
