Dom Bella Elegance Cabernet Franc 2015

Dom Bella Cabernet Franc is a single-varietal expression from Quinta de Bella, exemplifying the estate’s philosophy of concentrated, terroir-driven wines. The 50-hectare estate is planted at high density on gentle hills of high-quality granite sandy soils, known locally as “noble granite.” The continental-influenced climate, combined with proximity to the Dão River and completely dry-farmed, sustainable viticulture, ensures grapes of remarkable flavour, minerality, and ageing potential. Production Grapes are machine-harvested and carefully sorted on a selection tray to ensure only the best bunches enter the winery. Destemming and crushing precede fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, where both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place. Maceration lasts approximately 20 days using the delestage technique to gently extract colour, tannins, and aromas. The wine is then matured for 24 months in 225-litre French oak barrels (used) and a further 4 years in bottle before release, allowing for a harmonious integration of structure and flavour. Tasting Notes Deep ruby in colour, the wine presents pronounced aromas of dark forest fruits, green pepper, and subtle spices. The palate is full-bodied, with vibrant acidity and firm, iron-like structure. Flavours are long-lasting, finishing with mineral and pencil-shaving notes that add complexity and depth. Food & Serving Serve between 16–18°C. Pairs beautifully with grilled or roasted red meats, game, and hearty vegetarian dishes, or enjoy on its own to savour the intricate structure and layered flavours.

Roda Sela Rioja 2023

Bodegas Roda Sela is a refined expression of Rioja Alta, crafted from old bush vines of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha planted near the historic town of Haro. Low yields, careful hand-harvesting, and 12 months in French oak make this a wine of real elegance and concentration — a step up from everyday Rioja without stepping away from what makes the region great. Why You'll Love It Introduced in 2008, Sela has quickly become a benchmark for carefully crafted Rioja Alta. Bodegas Roda's philosophy centres on balance, elegance, and terroir expression — and this wine delivers all three. If you're looking for a Rioja that rewards attention without demanding it, this is it. Sustainably farmed, with minimal intervention in the winery. Vineyard & Production Sourced from 15–30-year-old bush vines whose low yields encourage phenolic maturity and concentrated aromatics. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and gently crushed before 19 days of maceration. The wine then spends 12 months in 100% semi-new French oak barrels, allowing fruit and oak to integrate seamlessly before bottling. Tasting Notes Bright ruby with layered red hues. The nose is intense and expressive — cherry, red berry, and hints of black fruit, with subtle mineral and oak notes. On the palate, the wine is wide and voluminous, with fine, well-structured tannins, ripe fruit concentration, and a long, persistent finish. Perfect Pairings Best served at room temperature alongside rich, flavourful dishes. Think roasted venison, beef fillet, slow-cooked lamb shoulder, or hearty stews. Also excellent with aged hard cheeses and charcuterie. The Blend Tempranillo 94%, Graciano 3%, Garnacha 3% — DOCa Rioja Alta, Spain. Hand-harvested. 75cl bottle.
