Domaine Hubert Brochard Sancerre Terroir De Silex is a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc with bright, rich fruit aromas of gooseberry and nettle that are matched on the palate by a clean, balancing acidity and by a dry, chalky and gently smokey minerality on the finish. Grown in Sancerre's famous silex (flint) soil that is also rich in limestone deposits, Domaine Hubert Brochard's Terroir De Silex has all of the mineral qualities you might expect balanced by lovely bright fruit.
Yarra Yering, Chardonnay, - Half 2021
Est. delivery in August, 2026 Yarra Yering is one of those names that demands a moment of respect. Founded by the late Dr Bailey Carrodus in 1969, it was among the first wineries to re-establish viticulture in the Yarra Valley, and it has never stopped making wines that feel genuinely sui generis. This Chardonnay is a half bottle, which means it will evolve a touch faster than its full-sized sibling — all the more reason to open it with purpose over a proper dinner rather than squirrel it away indefinitely. The 2021 vintage in the Yarra was cool and precise, which shows here in spades: white peach and grapefruit with struck flint and a savoury, toasted-nut character from well-integrated oak. The palate is taut and focused, with real drive from the acidity and a mineral persistence that lingers long after the glass is empty.
