Granbazán Etiqueta Ambar Albariño, DO Rías Baixas 2024
Granbazán Etiqueta Ambar Albariño is a top-quality, single-estate wine from DO Rías Baixas, showing fantastic energy, freshness and precision. Crafted from 100% estate-grown Albariño sourced from the warmest plots of Finca Tremoedo vineyard in Vilanova de Arousa, just one kilometre from the Atlantic, this benchmark white is regarded as one of the finest examples of the style. Why You'll Love It This is Rías Baixas Albariño at its finest—energetic, fresh, and beautifully precise. Founded in 1981, Bodegas Granbazán is one of the pioneering estates of the Val do Salnés subregion in Rías Baixas. With a focus on terroir-driven winemaking, Granbazán has built an international reputation for producing Albariño wines of remarkable finesse, purity and ageing potential. The result is a single-estate wine that showcases the exceptional quality of coastal Albariño with outstanding complexity and character. Vineyard & Production Grapes come from 35-year-old pergola-trained vines rooted in sandy granite soils at Finca Tremoedo vineyard in Vilanova de Arousa, just one kilometre from the Atlantic. Harvested by hand into 17kg crates, the fruit is pressed for free-run juice and undergoes 12 hours of skin contact before fermentation in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for 8 months on fine lees, giving texture and complexity while preserving vibrant acidity and minerality. Tasting Notes This elegant Albariño opens with fresh, almost tropical aromas, followed by layers of stone fruit and citrus. The palate is creamy yet mineral, with vibrant acidity and a classic saline edge. Ripe, complex and beautifully balanced, it shows the hallmark freshness of coastal Albariño. According to winemaker Diego Ríos, the 2023 and 2024 vintages are among the best in recent memory. Perfect Pairings A natural partner for grilled fish, shellfish and seafood dishes, this Albariño is a near-perfect match for coastal cuisine. Also excellent with oysters, scallops, or fresh salads.
