EOM Bruichladdich 16 Year Old Chateau dYquem Cask Single Malt Islay Whisky

End Of Message whiskies are a pair of casks purchased by an adoring father for his two children. This 16 Year Old Single Malt is the 'sister cask' of the pair, cask number 526. Distilled at Bruichladdich 15.07.2002 and aged exclusively in one of the finest Premier Grand Cru Sauternes casks from Chateau d'Yquem. We believe these two sibling casks are the oldest full term maturation in Chateau d'Yquem of their kind. Others brought to market have been cask finishes or bottled at half the age. Tasting Notes from Colin Dunn - Whisky Ambassador: "The “Auld Alliance” between the two countries shows that in the right hands of a progressive Distillery, perfection can be achieved." Nose: Smouldering honey and citrus notes jell together giving up a residual sweetness. Palate: Explodes on the palate with notes of honey, grapes and sweet oak backed up with toasted barley. Finish: The French oak leaves it’s mark, giving extra grip in the mouth that leaves you with a lingering dry spice driven aftertaste. A well-balanced dram with a smoky tail that lingers in the mouth. This bottle is being sold by a client who has appointed Constantine Stores Ltd, Drink Finder to act as their agent. The seller is not a VAT registered business and there is no VAT included in the purchase price nor is there any VAT to pay.

GlenAllachie 15 Year Old Scottish Oak Finish Single Malt

From Batch 2 of the Virgin Oak Series, we are proud to present a rare single malt which underwent additional maturation in casks made of Scottish Sessile Oak (Quercus Petrae), sourced from the Atlantic coast. Scottish oak is incredibly challenging to work with at all stages of production; growing, milling and coopering. Its rarity, costliness and tendency to knot mean it is scarcely used for whisky maturation. Before being filled, the wood was air dried for 36 months, then toasted and charred to a medium level. Using just a handful of casks, the resulting spirit delivers a truly exceptional drinking experience, oozing with vanilla and butterscotch, perfectly balanced with rich notes of cinnamon, ginger and cloves.
