Errazuriz Aconcagua Costa Pinot Noir 2020

Erráuriz Aconcagua Costa Pinot Noir is an elegant, cool-climate expression of Pinot Noir from Chile's coastal Aconcagua Costa region. Sourced from vineyards just 12 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean and planted on metamorphic volcanic soils, this wine showcases the minerality, freshness, and delicate complexity that define this unique terroir. Why You'll Love It This is cool-climate Chilean Pinot Noir with real finesse—complex, fresh, and beautifully mineral-driven. The proximity to the Pacific Ocean creates ideal conditions for elegant Pinot Noir, with cooling breezes preserving natural acidity and allowing slow, even ripening. With 85% aged in used French oak and native yeast fermentation, this wine offers exceptional purity and terroir expression at an outstanding price point. Vineyard & Production Sourced from the Aconcagua Costa Vineyard, just 12 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean, planted in 2005 and 2009 on metamorphic volcanic soils of slate type that add distinctive mineral notes. The 2020 vintage featured prolonged ripening with excellent acidity retention, delivering elegant wines with vibrant minerality. Grapes were hand-picked, double-sorted, and deposited in stainless steel tanks with 15% whole-cluster. Cold maceration for 3–5 days preceded fermentation with native yeasts, with total maceration lasting 12–20 days. The wine was aged for 11 months in French oak barrels (85% used, 15% new). Tasting Notes Limpid ruby red colour with beautiful violet flashes. Complex nose showing red fruits such as cherries and red currants, accompanied by floral notes of rosehip and dill, with subtle truffle undertones. The palate is dominated by fresh fruits with gentle toasted notes reminiscent of chocolate and coffee. Vibrant acidity and mineral finish showcase the coastal terroir. Perfect Pairings A versatile wine perfect with seared tuna with soy and spring onions, grilled salmon, roasted duck, mushroom risotto, soft cheeses, or light poultry dishes. Also excellent wit

Smalltown Vineyards The Black Craft Shiraz Barossa Valley 2023

From the historic soils of the Barossa Valley comes Smalltown Vineyards The Black Craft Shiraz, a wine steeped in history and craftsmanship. The name pays homage to both the German immigrants who first planted Shiraz in Barossa in the 1850s and the ancient art of letterpress printing, known as the “Black Craft” for its inky, mysterious allure. This Shiraz captures that same sense of depth and intensity, blending tradition with bold expression. Sourced from the premium Northern Barossa Valley—primarily Greenock, Western Ridge, and Ebenezer—the wine is crafted with generous whole berries in open fermenters, aged 11 months in a mix of American and French oak (around 35% new) to create a dark, rich, and complex Barossa Shiraz that balances savoury power with elegance. Meet the producer Smalltown Vineyards express many of the Barossa’s prized districts from Gomersal, Kalimna, and the Eden Valley, producing wines that reflect the region’s diverse terroir and heritage. Production Sourced from the finest vineyard sites in the Northern Barossa, the Shiraz is open-fermented with a portion of whole berries to preserve fruit integrity and soft tannins. The wine is matured for 11 months in a variety of American and French oak barrels, including new and seasoned, all AP John coopered in Barossa. Tasting notes A compelling, dark, and chocolaty Barossa Shiraz. Rich blackberry compote, black pepper, and iron-rich, beefy notes dominate the palate, complemented by balanced acidity and a touch of cocoa powder on the long finish. No sweetness—this is serious, grown-up Shiraz. Food match As the name suggests, “black” is key—chargrilled meats, barbecue, or dishes cooked on a griddle pan are perfect companions. Grape Shiraz 100%
