This wine exhibits a great purple robe with an enticing nose of dark berries and light spiciness. With a long and extracted finish that doesn't quit speaks to the high quality Zinfandel fruit that we started with.

Vina Real Crianza Rioja 2021

Viña Real Crianza is a classic Rioja red with aromatic intensity, showcasing forest fruits such as blackberries and wild cranberries intermingled with black liquorice, vanilla and nutmeg from time spent in oak. The palate offers the perfect balance of tannin and acidity, delivering a refined and elegant expression of Rioja Alavesa. Why You'll Love It This is Rioja Crianza at its finest—aromatic, balanced, and beautifully crafted. Made from grapes from the Rioja Alavesa area, hand-harvested and processed at Viña Real, this wine showcases the quality and character of this celebrated Spanish wine region. Aged for 13-14 months in American and French oak barrels, the result is a wine with exceptional depth, complexity and the classic Rioja profile of fruit, oak and elegance. Vineyard & Production Wine made from grapes from the Rioja Alavesa area, hand-harvested and processed at Viña Real. The 2021 vintage in Rioja saw erratic weather, with a dry summer followed by key September rainfall that became crucial for favourable evolution in the vineyard. In the higher, breezier vineyards as well as those of low and mid yields, the grapes improved significantly with this rainfall. Grapes were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 10-12 days with temperatures between 26-28°C. Once malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine is placed in American and French oak barrels for 13-14 months. Tasting Notes This aromatic Crianza opens with intense aromas of forest fruits such as blackberries and wild cranberries, intermingled with black liquorice, vanilla and nutmeg from oak ageing. The palate shows the perfect balance of tannin and acidity, with ripe fruit character and elegant oak integration. The finish is refined and harmonious. Perfect Pairings A versatile food wine, perfect with barbecued lamb, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, aged cheeses, or Spanish cuisine. Also excellent with tapas and hearty stews. The Blend Tempranillo-dominant blend from Rioja Alavesa, Spa
