False Bay Crystalline Chardonnay 2025
False Bay Crystalline Chardonnay is a vibrant, unoaked South African Chardonnay made with wild yeast fermentation and naturally balanced grapes. Sourced from low-yielding coastal vineyards in Stellenbosch, this wine showcases purity of fruit with textural depth and finesse. Extended lees contact adds subtle complexity, making it a fresh yet layered Chardonnay that is both expressive and food-friendly. Meet the Producer False Bay Vineyards is an independent company owned by Waterkloof founder Paul Boutinot. With a philosophy of making ‘real’ wines that reflect their origin, the estate focuses on authentic, sustainable practices to deliver characterful wines at outstanding value. Production The grapes come primarily from a single coastal vineyard in Stellenbosch, situated next to one of the region’s most acclaimed Chardonnay producers. Low yields and small berries retain natural acidity, eliminating the need for acid adjustment. Hand-harvested grapes are fermented spontaneously with wild yeast in stainless steel, then aged on lees for a minimum of six months. No additions are made other than sulphur as a preservative. Tasting Notes Crisp and unoaked with bright citrus and stone fruit flavours, complemented by nutty and toasty nuances from extended lees ageing. A Chardonnay that balances intensity with delicacy, finishing long and clean. Food Match Excellent with roast chicken, creamy pasta dishes, or grilled tiger prawns. Grape Varieties Chardonnay 100%
Wildeberg Wild House Chenin Blanc 2023
Chenin is the backbone grape varietal of South Africa; it’s the most profusely planted variety in our country and is closely associated to our wine-making identity. Ripe peach and tropical fruit on the nose with fresh citrus notes. Honeyed and textured on the palate with crisp acidity and hints of honey dew melon and lychee leading to a bright, zesty finish with fresh lemony acidity. A brilliant choice to go with seafood, poultry and chargrilled vegetables.
