False Bay Old School Syrah 2023

False Bay Old School Syrah is a refined, savoury red from coastal Stellenbosch vineyards, crafted with minimal intervention to highlight balance and authenticity. Fermented with wild yeast, including a portion of whole bunches, and matured in large wooden foudres, this Syrah shows spice, freshness, and elegant structure — a style that is far more Syrah than Shiraz, with a nod to tradition and restraint. Meet the Producer False Bay Vineyards is an independent company founded by Paul Boutinot of Waterkloof. With a commitment to ‘real’ winemaking, they use sustainable farming and natural techniques to create wines that faithfully reflect their South African terroir. Production Grapes are sourced from two low-yielding, coastal vineyards in Stellenbosch, chosen for their cooler temperatures and naturally balanced, concentrated berries. Hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously with wild yeast, the wine includes a small proportion of whole bunches to enhance aromatic lift and texture. Maturation takes place in large wooden foudres, allowing the Syrah to develop complexity without overpowering oak. Vegan friendly and sustainably farmed. Tasting Notes A ripe, spicy nose with bramble fruit, earth, and subtle meaty notes. The palate is structured and elegant, showing red fruit purity, fine tannins, gentle spice, and refreshing natural acidity. Food Match Perfect alongside spicy dishes, slow-cooked red meats, lamb, and rich Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Grape Varieties Syrah 100%

Pasquiers Grenache Noir Vin de Pays D'Oc 2024

Pasquiers Grenache Noir is a ripe, supple southern French red from the Languedoc , crafted by Boutinot France from a 40-year-old parcel of cordon-trained vines in the south-western Languedoc. Brimming with dark fruit, spice, and easy-drinking charm, this is Grenache at its most generous. Why You'll Love It Boutinot France has grown from a small importer into one of the country's leading producers, working hand-in-hand with growers across the Languedoc. Their philosophy is to champion traditional varieties and terroirs while crafting wines that are approachable, characterful, and true to their origins. This Grenache Noir is a perfect expression of that commitment, unoaked and unhurried, letting the variety speak for itself. Vineyard and Production The vines are unusually cordon-trained in a region dominated by bush vines, their roots digging deep into sandy, silty soils and producing concentrated fruit fully ripened under the Mediterranean sun. After careful destemming, the grapes are macerated at cool temperatures and vinified without oak to preserve Grenache's vibrant fruit purity. Tasting Notes Expressive aromas of ripe black fruit and sweet spice lead to a palate loaded with juicy berry flavours, liquorice, and soft texture. Rich yet rounded, with no hard edges, this is Grenache at its most generous. Perfect Pairings Perfect alongside Mediterranean fare, think olives, crusty bread, roasted vegetables, herb-infused meats, and aged cheeses. Grape Varieties Grenache
