Figuero 15 Reserva Ribera del Duero 2018
Tinto Figuero was born from a thousand vines, which were received by Jose MarÃa GarcÃa and Milagros Figuero in the year of their wedding, 1961. The Figuero philosophy is based on utmost respect and minimal intervention in the winemaking process. Therefore, nature is allowed to follow its course at every stage, accompanying the wines every step of the way. Winemakers Jean-François Hebrard and Óscar RodrÃguez form an essential partnership to bring together the two philosophies of know-how and laissez-faire as Figuero's way of understanding viticulture and oenology. In keeping with the philosophy, the old vines, spread between more than 50 growing areas, are vinified according to their classification in small tanks. In this way the personality of each area can be maintained and wines of three classifications are produced: Vino de Pueblo (village wines), Vino de Paraje (wines of the same viticultural area) and Vino de Parcela (single-plot wines). The Figuero vineyards are situated at 800m above sea level and are affected by the Mediterranean climate and continental influences.
Il Debbio Cabernet Franc 2020
'Emilio Falsini is a Tuscan-born wine consultant who works on just two quite differing projects: Nerello Mascalese vines grown on the northern slope of Etna at Contrada Feudo Pignatone, and Cabernet Franc vineyards in Debbiacci Le Sondraie in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci. Il Debbio Cabernet Franc Costa Toscana is created from a selection of Cabernet Franc grapes grown along the Tuscan coast in one of the most beautiful settings this region has proved to possess some of the best conditions for growing this noble variety, which has found a new home in this corner of Tuscany. The choice of grapes for Il Debbio involves the careful selection of the best bunches in the vineyard, followed by the separate vinification of the most appropriate parcels according to the climate trends over the year, resulting in an elegant wine with a strong varietal identity and a mineral imprint. A fresh, dynamic wine that delivers a modern interpretation of Costa Toscana Cabernet Franc. The hand-harvested grapes were vinified in small open containers, about 30% whole bunches, with skin contact for 15 days with daily punching down. Ageing for 58% of the wine was in cocciopesto amphora for 10 months; the remaining 42% in small barrels for 10 months.'
