Filey Bay Porter Cask Special Release Single Malt
Life for this special release started out as two casks, an ex-PX and ex-bourbon cask that went on to live as their Sherry Cask Reserve #2 and part of their Flagship whiskies. These two whisky soaked casks were refilled with Wold Top Brewery's Marmalade Porter and then tucked away to mature for 14 months. Once disgorged it was refilled with a full term ex-bourbon matured whisky from 2018 and tucked away on the farm for finishing. Each step of this whisky's maturation brought new notes to the final product. Sweetness from the ex-PX cask, vanilla from the ex-bourbon cask and orange chocolate with malt from the Porter have all woven wonderfully into the Filey bay signature light and fruity house style.
Lagavulin 16 Year Old
Lagavulin 16 Year Old Malt is a powerful, peat-smoke nose with seaweed and some sweetness, salty and sweet flavours with hints of wood and a long peaty-salt finish. The rich, peaty water used to make Lagavulin 16 Year Old Malt, runs down to the distillery from the Solan Lochs in the hills above
