Finca Ferrer Coleccion 1310 mts. Block a6 Malbec 2017
' It was 1861 when Francesc Sala Ferre became the first member of the Ferrer-Sala family to enter the wine business, but his ancestors had already been making wine for centuries on the family estates of La Freixeneda and Can Sala, both in the heart of the Catalan-Spanish Penedès. After revolutionizing sparkling wines with Freixenet from 1914, the family has not stopped looking for new frontiers and new sensations in the world of wine, as they did with their landings in Sonoma (USA) and Champagne (France) in the 80s, in the most prestigious Spanish Designations of Origin in the 90s, and finally in Gualtallary, in the heart of Uco Valley (Argentina) in the 2000s. In Gualtallary we find a perfect terroir for the planting of our vineyards. A singular soil where the radiant mountain sun bathes the vineyards, like the crystalline water of the thaw that comes down, not from the sky, but from the imposing snowy Andes. By day, the grape skin darkens and gains in perfume and taste. At night, the cool mountain breeze stops time, the valley is quiet and the fruit ripens in its complexity. Finca Ferrer is located in the prestigious and unique region of Gualtallary in Tupungato, a sub-region of the Uco Valley in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. There, in its 317 hectares at more than 1300 meters above sea level, it gives life to exquisite wines of the Malbec, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Chardonnay and Torrontes varietals planted on a sandy and rocky soil with a calcareous base, poor in organic matter. With exceptional drainage and the help of the characteristic winds, the plant remains healthy and strong from its conception. The thermal amplitude of 16 C with great solar intensity and low night temperatures generate grapes of outstanding colour and aroma. The grapes for this top Malbec are harvested by hand, carefully loaded in to crates of just 18kg to preserve the integrity of grapes. Pre-fermentation maceration is carried out at low temperatures for 4 days. Temperature
Luis Canas Reserva Seleccion de la Familia Rioja 2020
Bodegas Luis Cañas Reserva Selección de la Familia is a benchmark Rioja Alavesa Reserva from one of the region's most respected family-run wineries, producing wines of remarkable depth and character since 1928. Nestled at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria, the estate oversees 870 individual vineyard plots of high-altitude vines averaging 45 years of age, on poor chalky-clay soils that yield naturally small, concentrated bunches. Aged for 20 months in French and American oak, this wine scored 92 Points from Tim Atkin MW in his 2024 Rioja Report and was Highly Commended at the Wine Merchant Awards 2025. Why You'll Love It This is Rioja Alavesa Reserva from Bodegas Luis Cañas, a family estate that has been a benchmark for terroir-driven Rioja since 1928. With 870 individual vineyard plots under its care, the estate is celebrated as one of the leading producers of Viñedo Singulares (single-vineyard wines). Director of viticulture Rubén Jiménez, named Grower of the Year 2023 by Tim Atkin MW, has played a pivotal role in recovering ancient grape varieties and mapping the Alavesa's most exceptional sites. The estate cultivates 350 hectares of vines averaging at least 45 years of age, planted across slopes and terraces of limestone and clay soils, where altitude and exposure ensure slow, balanced ripening. Grapes undergo 72 hours of cold maceration before fermentation in temperature-controlled sealed cement tanks at 26°C, with daily pump-overs. Aged for 20 months in a balanced mix of medium-toasted French and American oak, then bottled without filtration to safeguard natural complexity and ageing potential. One of the few Riojas to feature Cabernet Sauvignon alongside Tempranillo, adding graphite and blackcurrant leaf dimension to the red berry and bramble fruit. Vineyard & Winemaking Produced by Bodegas Luis Cañas in Rioja Alavesa, Spain. 350 hectares of vines averaging 45+ years of age on limestone and clay soils. 72 hours cold maceration, fermentation in sealed cement
