Follador Prosecco Rose Brut Laelia 2019
Follador has been setting the standard for Italian wines since 1769 when Giovanni Follador received the Wine Quality Award from the Doge of Venice IVº Mocenigo. These superior winemaking skills have been passed down through to Giovanni's ancestors for more than 2 centuries and his descendant Gianfranco Follador, his wife Michele and their children now run the winery. Together, they've quietly gone about marrying traditional vineyard cultivation with the latest production techniques to create wines that are highly respected among their peers.
Ramon Bilbao Early Harvest Edicion Limitada Rosado 2023
' Ramon Bilbao is a renowned Spanish winery based in Rioja, known for producing high-quality wines that blend tradition with innovation. Established in 1924, the winery specializes in crafting elegant, complex wines, with a focus on Tempranillo grapes. Their top-tier wine, Mirto, is made from old vines in select vineyards and is produced only in exceptional years, reflecting the excellence and craftsmanship that define the Ramon Bilbao legacy. The vineyards are located at altitudes between 550 and 770 meters on various estates in Alto Najerilla, at the foot of Sierra de la Demanda. The soils are rocky, with some clay and lower levels of limestone compared to other Rioja areas. The grape skins were in contact with the juice for 3 hours at low temperature to achieve a light salmon pink color. After that, the juice was separated and fermented in tanks at a low temperature to preserve the variety's aromatic profile. The season was challenging, with extreme weather conditions: early frosts, heavy rains, and drought. Despite this, timely rainfall allowed for balanced grape ripening, and the harvest began in early September. '
