GEVREY CHAMBERTIN Cuvée Bertin Domaine Lignier-Michelot 2021
With 100% whole bunches, the 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin "Cuvée Bertin" has a crisp, tertiary, slightly smoky bouquet that opens gradually. It's always defined by the stems at this stage. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins and black fruit laced with tobacco. A pinch of black pepper, eases off towards a more elegant finish. Moderate length. Fine.
MOREY SAINT DENIS Rue de Vergy Domaine Lignier-Michelot 2021
The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis en la Rue de Vergy, including around two-thirds whole bunches, has a well-defined bouquet. The stems are fairly noticeable at present, though that will be soaked up by the fruit with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy, fine tannins. The 2021 is harmonious and quite crunchy; blackberry commingles with tar and subtle tobacco notes towards its satisfying finish. Good potential, but patience required.
