GIVRY 1er Cru Clos Jus Domaine François Lumpp 2022
This is ripe yet exuberantly fresh with bright aromas of both red and dark berries, spice, soft wood and a whiff of floral character. There is a similar level of freshness on the palate of the medium-bodied flavors that manage to be at once rich yet detailed and particularly on the firm and youthfully austere but well-balanced finale. This is compact and quite firmly structured and as such, a decade or more of aging potential seems to be a given.
LADOIX La Toppe d’Avignon Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair 2022
A vague whiff of volatile acidity lurks in the background of the aromas of red cherry, raspberry and array of floral elements. The sleek and utterly delicious, if not especially dense, flavors possess a generous mouthfeel while displaying good length on the clean and dry finish that is partially shaped by bright acidity.
