Distillery & Maturation GlenDronach distillery has been producing whisky in the Eastern Highlands of Scotland since 1826. The 12 Year Old Original is matured for a minimum of twelve years in a combination of Spanish Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks, the two cask types that define the GlenDronach house style. The PX casks contribute rich dried fruit sweetness and dark sugar, while the Oloroso casks add depth, nuttiness, and warming spice. Bottled without chill filtration and at natural colour to preserve every nuance of the sherry cask maturation. Tasting Notes The appearance is a deep amber-red gold. The nose is sweet and creamy, with vanilla, hints of ginger, spiced mulled wine, and pear. Longrow Peated is made by Springbank and offers those who enjoy a heavily peated whisky the chance to enjoy a lingering smoky taste that travels through the senses like the smoke billows from a kiln. Aromas are very creamy, vanilla custard. The smoke develops and toasted marshmallows, herbs and rich fruits appear over time. The palate is incredibly well balanced – rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint.
