GlenDronach Ode To The Embers Sherry And Smoke

The scent of smouldering peat, the warmth of the Highlands, and memories of bygone days bring us home again. Days when malt kilns cloaked barley grain in a warm smoke. This is an Ode to the Embers, a celebration of traditional whisky-making. A richly aromatic expression from The GlenDronach, it combines peated notes with the complex flavours of Oloroso sherry casks, enriched with their signature Pedro Ximénez casks. Aromas of cinnamon spiced toffee, apple and caramelised walnut brittle. The palate is rich with raisins, bramble grenache and smoked chocolate fudge. Ode to the Embers is a rare peated expression within The Master’s Anthology, a collection of fine single malts from The Glendronach. The Master Blender invites you to explore the breadth and depth of sherry cask maturation. Each expression in this collection is exceptional in character and taste, celebrating different aspects of our rich and rewarding Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

North Star Obscurities Curiosities Lindores Abbey 6 Year Old 60% Single Malt Scotch Whisky

North Star Obscurities & Curiosities Lindores Abbey 6 Year Old is a punchy, character‑driven single malt that shows just how much personality a young whisky can have when bottled at full strength. Distilled at the revived Lindores Abbey distillery and matured for six years before being selected by North Star, it comes alive at 60%, carrying a mix of bright orchard fruit, creamy sweetness and lively spice that feels both youthful and surprisingly composed. It opens with a burst of baked apples, pear drops and vanilla fudge, wrapped in a gentle malty warmth. There’s a clean, almost herbal freshness underneath, the kind of note that hints at new‑make vibrancy but in a way that adds energy rather than roughness. As it settles, richer tones appear: honeycomb, toasted barley, a touch of lemon oil and a soft biscuity depth from the cask. On the palate the high strength makes itself known immediately, but once the heat eases it reveals layers of sweet malt, stewed apples, creamy toffee and a lively peppery kick. There’s a pleasant waxy texture that gives the whisky weight, along with flashes of citrus and spice that keep it bright and engaging. A little water opens it up further, bringing out softer vanilla, pastry notes and a rounded fruitiness. The finish is warm and persistent, with lingering malt sweetness, gentle oak spice and a final lift of citrus. It’s a bold, youthful, flavour‑forward dram that shows off Lindores Abbey’s spirit in a vivid, unfiltered way, exactly the kind of bottling North Star’s Obscurities & Curiosities series is known for.
